Brite Nites Lights Up Draper City’s Tree of Life

Commercial Christmas lights

Over the many years of being in the holiday lighting installation business, Brite Nites has illuminated hundreds of beautiful venues. From extravagant homes to extraordinary commercial spaces, we have brought the holiday spirit with that unique wow factor.

But one project has been extremely popular with Utah travelers and those on social media. In the middle of Draper City Park stands a large willow tree. Since 2014 we have decorated it with thousands of Christmas lights, resulting in the locals lovingly nicknaming it “The Draper Tree of Life.

“This was extraordinary! We are from CA and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere – a guy was proposing to his girlfriend last year. It was such a magical thing to see. I highly recommend.”

“Around the holidays, the Tree of Life in Draper City Park is illuminated with over 1,000 strands of lights is spectacular.”

“I enjoy Draper Park at any time of year. It is big, with fun bridges, basketball courts, playground, and it connects with a fantastic trail that I’ve run on for many miles. However, the crowning jewel of this part of the “Tree of Life” is around Christmas. The City of Draper covers every branch of this tree with lights, which is breathtaking. Truly worth the trip to check out this tree. They also put up other lights around the park and have a hill that kids can sled on if there’s snow. Great family activity or perfect for a romantic stroll. Anyone can enjoy this Christmas highlight.”

Christmas Stories with Dean Lyons

Brite Nites President and Founder Dean Lyons describes one of our favorite and most extraordinary holiday lighting clients! We have been honored to do the Badami’s lights for many, many years. Click below to watch Dean explain in detail about their extravagant lighting display!

Brite Nites | Spreading Holiday Cheer Since 1993

In 1993, our founder Dean Lyons started hanging up Christmas lights with just a ladder and a yellow jeep. Soon people began asking where they could find him and if he could hang their lights. He had created this buzz in Utah, and Brite Nites was born.

Twenty-six years later, we are still hanging up Christmas lights, but now we have a few more than just one ladder. Our crews are now in locations across the US, including Arizona, California, Florida, Washington, Utah, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C.; we’re only just getting started.

We truly love what we do and we thank our repeat clients for allowing us to light up their homes year after year. We have changed with our growth to give you the best lighting experience possible. Whether we’re lighting your roofline or a 60′ commercial tree, we pride ourselves on quality and service.

So thank you! You are what keeps Brite Nites going. We look forward to seeing you this holiday season with better lighting options and service.

Holiday Lighting Designs

There are so many ways to light your home during the holiday season. But what will best reflect you and your family’s personality? We outlined a few popular designs below.

1. Colorful

Adding a bit of color to your home is easy with lights! Whether you’re adding one color every year, or using every color we have to offer, colored lights are a fun and festive way to ring in the new year.

2. Shining Star

If you’re looking for a simple yet dramatic option, this is a perfect solution. If you want to avoid lighting your entire roofline, try wrapping lights around one large tree! This creates one large and beautiful display. And don’t forget the star on top!

3. Unique

If you want to try something completely different, try some beautifully lit decorations to put on the exterior of your home. This creates a beautiful and unique holiday display that will definitely stand out!

4. Traditional

Keeping it traditional is a classic design choice for most of our customers. A nice warm white light along the roofline keeps your home lit in a clean and conservative fashion. Add in a wreath and a few large red bows and you’re probably not far from matching the timeless McAllister’s house from Home Alone.

5. Traditional Twist

Traditional lights can become boring to some year after year. These icicle lights are still traditional in color, but unique and beautiful in how they hang. Create your own winter wonderland by covering your entire home in them as seen below!

6. Add Greenery

As always, adding greenery such as garland and wreaths can put the final touches on your home. Combining greenery with lighting creates a picture-perfect home for the holidays.

Why You Should Remove Your Holiday Lights Yearly

Having to sort out your holiday lighting year after year can become a tiring and tedious job. Why not leave your lights up year-round and save yourself the hassle?

Christmas lighting is meant to be installed for seasonal use only. They aren’t manufactured for long-term application. At Brite Nites, we strongly recommend that you remove your lighting after each holiday season to help preserve the life of your purchase.

  • Tree Growth: Trees will continue to grow no matter their size. When a wire is wrapped around the branches or trunk, the tree can become damaged as the cords will suffocate the tree. We’ve even seen some extreme examples of clients from other companies who have left their lights up, and the tree grows around the lights or cuts the trees in half! We have also seen trees that suffer scarring from lights never taken down.
  • Warm Weather: When you leave lights up during summer, the warm weather will damage them. Rain erodes the ends, and sunlight can make the bulbs dimmer and the wire brittle.
  • Wind Storms: Mother Nature damages the lights as the wind stretches the cords and blows the branches back and forth.
  • Wildlife: Curious animals love to chew on anything they can get their paws on. Bulbs, wire, etc.

One holiday season typically lasts 90 days, and our LED lights last 4-5 seasons. Taking down your lights after each season will allow you to enjoy your lights year after year without purchasing all new ones the following holiday.

Rather than purchasing lights each year, make sure that you are on our new plan where you don’t own the individual strands, but rather, you pay for the service yearly, and the lights are included with the package each year. This way, you pay one fee and don’t have to worry about the price changing each year.

Suppose you have questions about your current account with us or are looking for someone to install your Christmas lighting this year, contact us today! We provide Utah, California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Washington, Arizona, and Florida with the best residential and commercial holiday lighting services!

Meet the Brite Nites Team

Who is Brite Nites? Well, we like to think of ourselves as the as the Ghostbusters of Christmas. (You have to sing this next part in your head to the tune of Ghostbusters.) “When it’s Christmas time, and your house is bare, who you gonna call? Brite Nites!” Okay, so maybe that’s a bit cheesy, but a lot of the time it’s not too far from the truth. Every year we see people panic when they realize the Christmas season is upon them and they are the only house on the street without lights. We definitely have our fair share of last minute type jobs, but for our clients who are a little more prepared we plan and create some truly spectacular feats of the imagination.
